Continuing our projects in New Mexico and starting new ones on the East Coast.
Our off-grid land in New Mexico is serving as affordable housing:
Conservation Collective has acted as a facilitator within a rural, off-grid community near Taos, New Mexico. To start, we purchased three properties from long-term community members who needed a more comfortable lifestyle. We empowered these individuals financially so they could move on and tend to their health, family, and other aspirations. Two of these properties have been financed and sold to individuals looking to reinvent the buildings and care for the environment in the community and beyond. One is maintained by the nonprofit and used as a community resource and empowered presence to help keep the area wild.
Making off-grid construction accessible in Asheville:
In 2022, we bought a property outside of Asheville, North Carolina to create an example of off-grid life in a more conventional, populated area. The lot is around 11 acres and contains a stationary tiny home built by the previous owners. This property is almost off-grid and we are currently fundraising to add a solar system. This project is only just beginning - so stay tuned for future updates!
Our rescue animals:
Conservation Collective has rescued four animals from various areas in the United States! Our team believes that environmental conservation is strongly connected to animal welfare. Caring for these animals is a privilege we are able to accomplish with your support - so we thank you!
